Eldaneka Rolle

Hurricane Dorian may be gone, but it leaves a wake of devastation behind.
Eldaneka Rolle, a Bahamanian student at Northwest Missouri State University, says her family has endured hardship since the hurricane hit Grand Bahama in early September.

"We had already been hit by previous storms which we had never recovered from.  So that has taken its toll on his family."

Rolle also says the hurricanes she has experienced on Grand Bahama are like monsters.

"The sound of the wind is like a monster.  It's bad.  You can hear all the destruction.  You can't sleep.  Throughout the night it's howling and you don't know if you're going to be safe in the morning.  I just can't imagine what they went through."

Rolle also says that Northwest has provided a safe haven and a support network for her.
